Hey people! You are loved - go and spread it!

Why? Because I said so. And I'm bossy.

Yeah, that's right. It's time for another anon love meme.

Why? Because turning on the news either makes me want to throw things or curl into a ball and weep. Because I want to crawl into my pillow fort and never come out. Because too many people are sad, hurting, suffering. Because I want to remember that people are good, loving, and funny.

Here is how it will go. Post whatever you want about things and people you love. Fandom, real life, a story you read, a character that makes you grin, a person on LJ that brightens your day, etc. I especially encourage anything that makes us all burst out laughing or smile. Do so with comments, pictures, or fic.

I did one in 2008 and you can refer to it if you wish. Anonymous comments (and I think I disabled the screening of them) are allowed or you can post with your name if you feel so inclined.

Go forth - spread the love and please promote. Just remember that all negative or hateful comments will be removed and I will smite the hell out of you plus Enza will scorn you.

Cats Quoting Charlie Sheen

I adore you all and this is my gift to you.

EDIT: Also, when Watson aka Skynet takes over the world, it seems the only people smart enough to beat are Members of Congress. We're dead.

* My funny irony of the day comes from a family friend on Facebook. She is by far the most right wing nutjob I've ever known - worked for Christine O'Donnell in DE because she was brilliant and the way our country should be going. She constantly posts anti-government rants about how people should take care of themselves and ban welfare etc. There is no reasoning with her and everything is cloaked in strict interpretations of the Bible (not the one I've read, but that other special mean one ...).

So today she posts that her husband lost his job and blamed it on Obama.

Then said, "but no worries, the good thing about being in the Union is that they will find him a job soon so he doesn't even have to look!"

* Don't even get me started on the current state of politics in DC. Suffice to say that work has been rather hectic.

* I have some thoughts on Fringe. Spoilers )

According to Tracy McMillan, the reason I am not married is because:

1. I'm a bitch.

2. I'm shallow.

3. I'm liar.

4. I'm a slut.

5. I'm selfish.

6. I'm not good enough.

I can't even comment on this because I am so incredibly angry.

The Smithsonian American Art Museum is putting together a show on video games - they are allowing voting on what should be included and the link is here.

I figure a few people would be interested in this...

Very quick update - I went to see Dar Williams last night play with the Ibis Chamber music society. The Ibis group is basically world class (ie - NSO, Boston Pops, etc) musicians who get together and jam. The harpist is the sister in law to Dar and so they just blended their music. As the music director said, "I was compelled to arrange some of these songs." They only did a few of her pieces - "Aging Well", "Beauty of the Rain", "Comfortably Numb", "When I Was a Boy"...but they were...transcendent moments. When the violins, basses, woodwinds, and cellos swelled during "Aging Well" - I started to cry. After "Comfortably Numb", A turned to me and said - "Now that was awesome."

They recorded the shows so hopefully you all can get tidbits of it - if I see video, I will post it.

(An aside, for my fellow Girlyman fans, Doris was diagnosed with leukemia after the November tour - she is doing better and is touring again, but I was struck by how close how that group is. Gotta love Facebook sometimes.)

Now back to the worse work week ever.

A has never seen Stargate...but did see the movie in the theater....

Oh yes. My plans for the weekend are set.

Do I start with Season One or do a collection of my favs? If so, which ones?

There is something seriously wrong when you look at something your boss has written and realize it's the equivalent of a first fic on ff.net....sigh.

I'm also looking into joining Sparkpeople.com which is a free weightloss/diet plan/fitness guide that my sister recently joined. As she is a certified fitness instructor and hangs out with nutritionist, I trust her judgment. A group of them all joined the site to help track their eating habits etc. I don't necessarily need to loose a significant amount of weight (I'd be happy with five, thrilled at 10 and gobsmacked at more), but I do need to eat healthier as hanging out with A is just not helping. He is a big boy and eats huge portions and I've fallen in the habit of keeping up.

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two images that describe your life right now, and why.
Day Ten: One confession.

1. Malice.

2. Blatant Stupidity.

3. Smoking.

4. Intolerance.

I gave my sister the entire series of SG1 for Christmas. She was giddy and jumped up and down on Facebook about it. Funny how many people said they were big fans too...

Discussing the show with her was/is always interesting as she is not at all involved in Fandom (that I know of) so it's been interesting to see how much fandom can color perception etc. One interesting thing to note - she hated Universe. Hated it.

It is a good thing to see the repeal of DADT....

It is a good thing to flip through the channels and see Stargate: The Ark of Truth dubbed in Spanish. Teal'c is a tenor and Cam is a bass and Sam is a soprano. It's...interesting and yes I am still watching it.

Is anyone else watching The Sing Off? I caught the premiere on a whim and I am floored by it all.

All the groups are amazing - how in the world can I even vote for any of them?

Here is what I like the most: they all seem to actually like and appreciate each other. You constantly see the other groups applauding, supporting, and just going nuts when a group hits a performance. And when they announced that all were going the finale, they all hugged and jumped on each other.

With all the cut throat competitions on TV these days and the meanness, I kind of love watching something so cheesy, fun, and happy.

Stargate Universe Canceled

I have no thoughts as I wasn't invested in it but I do expect TPTB over there to blame a lot of folks who were fans of the previous shows.

But how in the world is the news of Bill Pullman cast in the news season of Torchwood suppose to make me feel better?

I mean, he has kicked alien ass before but....

I did also see somewhere they are looking for a hot guy to play a DC bartender that Jack SparrowHarkness gets involved with - and I wanted to roll my eyes at the "must be comfortable with guy on guy action" line.

For the love of all that is holy...

I swear the dating advice chats on the Post are the most useless crap ever. When even guys write in to say, "yeah...no"....

Can you count the ways of "oh hell no"? They make a few decent points (getting out to a variety of things, being open to all kinds of people that aren't your "type") but those are lost in the spit take reactions.

Funny how a random celebrity gossip page addresses the issue of double standards in Movie ratings.

A very good read that looks at how it's okay for men to beat the shit out of each other and it's okay for women to be naked, but god forbid there be scenes of a woman enjoying sex with her husband.

Have I mentioned I am now caught up with Fringe?

Have I mentioned how happy I am? Because I've seen the extended preview for Thursday's episode and I am spinning in my chair with anticipation.

And because I love you - here it is:
